What goes on your car

The products we use at each stage of a job, what each one does, and what we'd suggest you keep at home. If you want to know exactly what we'd use on your car, ask when you get a quote.

Brands we use

Professional ranges from five brands. We pick products for the job in front of us, not to push one label.

Kraken Coatings: Ceramic, graphene and titanium coatings, from 3 to 10 years of protection.
Gyeon: Ceramic coatings and care products. We apply their MOHS EVO coating.
Gtechniq: Crystal Serum Light coating and the EXO hydrophobic top coat.
Koch Chemie: German cleaning and polishing chemicals.
CarPro: Prep, decontamination and coating products.

Coatings

The protection layer. It goes on last, over paint that has been cleaned back to bare and polished.

Kraken coatings

Kraken Coatings

Four levels: a 3 year SiO2 coating, 5 and 7 year graphene coatings, and a 10 year titanium coating. The longer-rated coatings are built to hold up for longer against washing, UV and chemicals, and the 7 and 10 year coatings have self-healing properties above 45°C.

MOHS EVO

Gyeon

A ceramic coating that leaves a glossy, very slick finish. A good middle option for a daily driver.

Used for: Ceramic coating

Crystal Serum Light

Gtechniq

A ceramic coating for paint. It can be finished with EXO v5, a top coat that makes water bead and sheet off even more strongly.

Used for: Ceramic coating

Ceramic sealant

A lighter spray-on layer that lasts up to three months. It keeps uncoated paint protected between visits.

Used for: Maintenance wash

Trim coating

Restores and seals faded black plastics. Unlike a dressing, it does not wash off or streak down the paint.

Used for: Plastic restoration

Paint prep

Everything that happens before a polisher touches the car. Skipping it grinds grit into the paint.

Snow foam and pH-neutral shampoo

Loosens and lifts dirt before anything touches the paint, without stripping existing protection.

Used for: Every exterior job

Iron and tar removers

Dissolve brake dust and road tar that have bonded into the paint and will not wash off.

Used for: Correction and coating prep

Compounds and polishes

Abrasives graded from cutting to finishing. We pick the gentlest one that removes the defect, after checking paint thickness.

Used for: Paint correction

Panel prep

Strips polishing oils off the surface so a coating bonds to the paint and not to residue.

Used for: Before every coating

Interior

Different materials need different chemistry. Every product gets tested on a hidden spot first.

Fabric and carpet cleaners

Enzyme and solvent spotters matched to the stain, then rinsed out with hot water extraction so no residue is left to attract dirt.

Used for: Stain removal, extraction

Mould treatment

Kills mould in carpet, underlay and seat foam, followed by extraction and drying.

Used for: Mould removal

Leather cleaner and conditioner

pH-balanced cleaner that lifts grime out of the grain, then a conditioner that keeps leather soft without making it shiny.

Used for: Leather and plastic conditioning

Interior protectant

UV protection for dash and door plastics with a matte, factory finish.

Used for: Interior details

Aftercare

What we recommend using at home between visits. Ask and we will tell you exactly what to buy.

pH-neutral car shampoo

Cleans without stripping a coating. Dishwashing liquid and supermarket wash-and-wax products do the opposite.

Used for: Home washing

Coating topper spray

A quick spray after washing that tops up slickness and water beading on coated paint.

Used for: Every few washes

Plush microfibre towels

Separate towels for paint, glass and wheels. Most home-wash swirls come from one towel doing everything.

Used for: Drying and wiping

Why Kraken
